FORTESCUE - BALANCE OF PLANT

I&C Instrumentation & Electrical Pty Ltd was engaged to deliver all works associated with the installation, construction, and commissioning verification of Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls equipment required for the FITS and Balance of Plant areas surrounding the GTF.

The project scope encompasses a comprehensive range of E&I&C activities, including the installation and integration of multiple system packages. Key works include the setup of four Functional Test Stations (FTS) with subassembly modules, complete with connections to rectifiers and isolators. I&C also installed a De-ionised Water Package featuring tanks, containers, control valves, and safety showers, as well as FTS and Rectifier Chiller Packages, Air Cooler Packages, and a Nitrogen Generator Package.

Additional tasks include the installation of cable ladders, interconnection of control valve cabling, running and termination of fibre optic cables, and assembly of shared services for nitrogen and de-ionised water systems. The scope also covers plant area lighting installation, hazardous area equipment setup, and safety shower installations—all completed in accordance with stringent quality assurance systems and hazardous area compliance standards.

I&C’s responsibilities further extended to the preparation of all required documentation, modification of existing services, and implementation of safety and functional installation measures to ensure full operational reliability and compliance.
