JOHN BEEVER AUSTRALIA / FLY ASH SILO E&I WORKS - CEMENT AUSTRALIA
Cement Australia commissioned John Beever Australia Pty Ltd. to construct a new 15,000 tonne Flyash Powder Silo complete with unloading and discharge facilities. The unloading gantry consists of three truck bays capable of accommodating “B-Double” trailers that can all unload simultaneously into the Storage Silo. Discharge from the Silo is via a Claudius Peters® licensed powder discharge system that will feed onto an existing conveyor that will transfer the product to the quayside wharf for loading onto ships.
I&C was engaged by JBA to carry out all associated Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) works for this project, which included but was not limited to unpacking, reassembling, sealing, and ensuring the proper condition of the Switch Room/LER upon delivery. The scope also involved installing all cable ladders, trays, conduits, troughing, ductwork, or any other compliant cable support systems, including all necessary sub-structure components, supports, brackets, fixtures, fittings, and segregation barriers to facilitate the complete E&I installation. Additionally, the work required installing and terminating the existing Switch Room feed MCCB, modifying all board modules, and handling switch room/LER incomer cabling.
Further responsibilities included supplying, installing, and terminating all lighting, power, control, and instrumentation systems, as well as connecting electrical components such as motors, blowers, dust collectors, fans, valves, and compressors. The project also encompassed the complete installation of optical fiber systems, the supply and installation of all local control stations, operator control stations, and associated stands, supports, brackets, and bracing where required. Moreover, it involved supplying and installing all single-phase and three-phase power outlets, junction boxes, switches, enclosures, and similar equipment, along with the installation of all field devices and instrumentation.
Upon completion of this project, I&C received following client feedback
“your team have been very professional to deal with, making decisions within their scope of works and raising matters when they need too. We have enjoyed working together and hope to do so again, Chris Holden and Paul Redway are in my view very good leaders whom always plan for the best outcomes”
